We are a group of over 400 people who are organizing to get a bus system in Georgetown, TX. We are from all walks of life, we live here, work here, have decided to retire here, go to school here or do business here in Georgetown. We feel that a well designed 6 route system made up of a fleet of 4 small, 15 passenger buses would improve Georgetown in many ways. We have many people in our community who cannot drive due to age (too old or too young) or disability who still need to get around town to shop, work, dine, get to recreational activities and volunteer. We also have many one car families and people without cars who could use an alternative for getting to work, shopping, running errands, and getting to parent teacher conferences. Well designed and established transit systems have also been shown to give a boost to local businesses, create jobs, and reduce the amount of spending on building and widening roads.
